Aloha everyone, it’s Friday!
It’s been quite a while since I last wrote, and believe me, I haven’t been sitting on my hands since then! I’m going to touch on a few of the most exciting things that have occurred since our last interaction. Read on, this is good stuff!
New Book!
A lot of you have asked me about how I get my images to look the way they do. Others have asked about gear I recommend or how to photograph certain things. Well, my friends, all of that is going to be answered in my new book: The Landscape Photographer’s Field Guide. The book is about 98% complete. My printer and I are just working on some of the final details. It will likely be about 144 pages, lightweight and designed to be thrown in your camera bag. Watch for a crowdfunding campaign for this book coming soon!

More Awards!
The competition season is among us and this year I’ve decided to only enter one competition. There are two stages to it, a district competition and an international competition. The districts have completed and I took home 3 awards from the competition! The International awards are being judged over the next few weeks. I’ll let you know how that goes. I’ll share these images with you after the current competition has concluded. Wish me luck!
Free Art!
Why have I taken so long to write another newsletter? Well, because the last one I sent out as a simple thank you with a link to a piece of free art turned out to be one of the most popular newsletters I’ve ever written! The response from that email was overwhelming and got me to start thinking. What if I could bring you free art on a monthly or even a weekly basis? What if it was from a variety of great artists, hand picked with high quality art?
Sounds interesting, right? Well, I’ve got a couple guys working on doing just that with me. Right now, we are trying to gauge what people are looking for, and how they get their art. If you can help me out, I have a 15 question survey that is completely anonymous. If you wouldn’t mind taking 5 minutes and filling that out, it would mean a lot to me. Just be as honest as possible. We are in early beta stages right now, but will be looking for people to help test the site before it goes live.
