Aloha everyone!  I’m in the process of refinishing this old Gibson guitar that I found in my auntie’s closet. It came from a garage sale somewhere here on Maui. I ran the SSN that’s on the headstock – it wasn’t Elvis’s or anyone famous. From my research it looks like it’s a 1958 Gibson. Maybe an LG-3, but I’m not sure.

Anyway, I’m trying to refinish it as it was in pretty rough shape. I’ve never refinished a guitar before and I’m not incredibly talented as a carpenter. That said, I’m willing to go the distance on this project and try to do it as best as I can. I’m having a hard time finding a pickguard and other parts for this guitar. I also don’t have a clue as to how to finish this thing, and am ardently looking for support in that area. If you have any knowledge or advice, please share!

Thanks!
