A Second Glimpse was shot after a four month hiatus from my camera. I had recently lost a Nikon D800E to the drink and other issues had me stepping away from behind the lens for awhile. Getting back and shooting again felt so good! It really is my happy place…
Although the water looks soft and gentle, in reality I had to move my camera out of the way of incoming swells to get this shot. This photo was taken after a wave had already passed through and as it was returning to the deep. I find myself drawn back to the water, again and again. It’s mesmerizing watching the ocean roll in and out, each passing swell bringing it’s own personality; gentle or furious, warning or affectionate.
