Artist notes:
I arrived at this pier long before sunrise to scout the shot I wanted to capture from the beautiful location. Unfortunately, heavy rains were getting me pretty soaked and I didn’t want to stand there and wait for the light in the pouring rain. So, I made my way underneath the pier for cover.
Soon the sky began to lighten and the rain began to lift, but instead of moving back to where I was originally planning on shooting the scene, the frame in front of me was calling me to stay. I loved the long protruding columns, the old cement structure, and the endless look of the pier itself.
I decided to slow down the water a touch, and I’m glad I did as the softly moving water added a completely new effect onto the scene. To me it almost looks like ice under the bridge, the colors just perfectly serene under this amazing structure.
