Circling Sands

Slot Canyons in the Southwest are like fish in the sea. They are everywhere. Some are better than others, some wider, some longer, some deeper, but nearly all pale in comparison with this one in Arizona. The sandstone walls of these canyons were created by years of water flowing through them. The red dirt shines in the daylight sun and the place becomes something of a living cathedral. Shadows and highlights bounce around and the lines in the sand circle around in every direction. And though I’ve visited these canyons on several occasions, they never cease to amaze!
