Artist notes:
I was looking forward to this night for weeks as it was determined to be the night of the year when the moon is closest to the earth. So, throughout the day I kept looking up at the sky, and it was cloud covered all day. It looked like I wasn’t going to get to see this “super moon” but I sat outside anyway. The clouds were really interesting looking and I was setting up to take some shots. Then for just a fleeting moment, there was a patch of open sky and through it the moon shone as bright as I’ve ever seen it. It illuminated the clouds all around and gave this nebula-like effect. I snapped a couple frames and was fortunate that one of them turned out!
