Artist notes:
I’ve seen a hundred sunrises from atop Haleakala, and they are all amazing. It is, however, a very difficult place to capture a sunrise photo. The stark contrasts between the intense brights from the sun and the dark darks of the lava rock make it really a tough landscape to give justice to in a camera. Fortunately, though, this one worked out! I was excited to see the rays of the sun passing by the peaks of the crater, exemplifying the landscape’s treacherous jagged rocks. This piece is being released as part of a very small edition, only 25 pieces will ever be printed. If you like it, consider ordering it!
Oh, and my wife took some video of this sunrise too. It’s kinda fun. You should probably check it out below! And if you like that, check out the rest of my goofy videos and subscribe to my youtube channel at: youtube.com/EarthTrot
