Sneak Peak: The Landscape Photographer’s Field Guide
Well, it has taken me a bit longer than anticipated to write The Landscape Photographer’s Field Guide, but it’s here. And it’s pretty darn cool. The cover is a super rugged go-anywhere passport type material with silver foil print. Inside we have 144 pages of information to take any photographer from amateur to professional status. Seriously, this thing has a ton of good information.
Questions? Answered.
I’ve taken all the questions I’ve been asked over the years, like “which camera should I buy?” and “What is aperture?” And expanded on them in layman’s terms. Then I went the next step and started to give out some great tips and tools to getting the most out of your photography. From camera controls, metering, white balance and bracketing to composition, I’ve included chapters for all of it. This book really has a lot of good info.
Then to take it a step further, I’ve gone into both Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop. Within the pages of the field guide you’ll find techniques for getting the most out of Lightroom and Photoshop. Techniques like Focus Stacking, Orton Effects, Layer Masks, Luminosity masks, adjustment layers and more.
Take it. Anywhere.
At 8.5″ x 5.5″ The Landscape Photographer’s Field Guide is an essential part of any landscape photographer’s arsenal. Throw it in your backpack or camera bag and get out there shooting! The field guide is designed to be durable and easily packable. It’s full color throughout and the information inside will help both in the field and when you’re ready to start processing images. As you can tell, I’m really, really excited about this book and I think you will be too. Also, I had coffee this morning, which is a rare event, so I’m even more amped up. But trust me, you’re going to want this book.
I’m going to run a crowdfunding campaign for this like I did with The Kingdom of Maui. It will likely go live starting in late October or early November. At that point it will run for 30 days. That’s your opportunity to get one below MSRP. But the best pricing will be only for the earliest pledgers. So, if you want to get in on that, follow this link to learn more and to be notified of the release!
